Happily Ever After

We are taking a trip to Disneyland this fall! We are so excited and can’t stop talking about it, neither can our two year old!

Yesterday we were telling Lexi who was going to come to Disneyland with us. We are going with a bunch of my husbands siblings and their kids. Since our last trip to Disneyland Lexi has always called my brother-in-law “Prince”. We are not exactly sure where this came from, it was very sudden and she is sure that he is “Prince”. It’s funny because she even knows that his name is Allen, but she still calls him her Prince. What a lucky guy! So, yesterday we told her that Allen was coming with us to Disneyland and she said, “My Prince coming and he live happily ever after!” Too cute!!!

Fisher & Price

Lately my two year old is really in to naming things. Instead of the usual “What’s that?” that most two year old’s say, she says “What’s that name?”. I blame this on the dog, when we got our puppy we kept asking Lexi what we should name it. We have also had a lot of babies born in our extended family recently, so there has been lots of baby naming going on.

Anyway, this means that every day I have to name at least 50 of Lexi’s toys, book characters, and anything else interesting that we happen to see in passing. Lexi is so funny, because if you say a name that she doesn’t like she will say “No” and you have to name it again.

One day my mommy brain just couldn’t think of any more names. Grandma had just given Lexi two new puppy toys and they were lacking names. I was thinking and thinking, but I had nothing. Finally I just read the top of the little doggie house the puppies came with, Fisher Price. So, I told Lexi that the puppies names were “Fisher & Price”. She was very happy with these two names! Now usually the names I give to everything don’t stick and the next day we end up giving them new names, but not with “Fisher & Price”. Lexi loves these two puppies and their names have stuck. It is so funny to watch my little girl introduce her puppies “Fisher & Price” to anyone who will listen!

Coke Beer

This weekend we spent the weekend at a cabin with my husbands family. Recently I have quit drinking Diet Coke, well I guess my two year old is having Diet Coke withdrawls. One morning she announced to the whole family, “I want a coke beer!”

I’m not sure if she ment root beer or a diet coke, but she was definately wanting some type of soda to start her day!

(Don’t get the wrong idea with this post, we do not drink alcohol and would never give our children beer! Oh, the things kids say to embarass their parents!)

Lexi’s Bed

We just got Lexi to go to bed in her bed without having one of us laying on the floor of her bedroom while she falls asleep. I know, two and a half years, this should have happened long ago. Lexi has never been a good sleeper, but I think she is growing up and finally is getting the whole going to bed process. Every night my husband and I tuck her in, read a story, say prayers, and kiss her goodnight. Last night I was kissing her goodnight and she asked me to sleep in her bed. I told her that I wouldn’t fit in her bed and she said, “But, Mommy it’s a comfy bed!”

I’m just glad she likes her bed so much. Having her put herself to sleep has made our lives so much easier!

Sunset

Last night we were outside playing while the sun was setting. It was a beautiful sunset and Lexi said in her most excited voice, “Look Mommy a pink moon!”

New Outfit!

Last week Lexi said, “Mommy, my ear is hurting. I need to go shopping and get a new outfit!”

I took her in to the insta care that night and turns out she had an ear infection. It is scary how girly this little two year old is! Her Daddy and I are in trouble!

What Lexi is saying…

My 2 year old says the funniest things lately, so I have decided to start a new category of posts called “What Lexi is saying…”. Hope you all enjoy my little toddlers funny comments, I know I do!

Today I put Lexi in the car and she said “I’m going to go get a coke at the zoo!”

I guess my love for Diet Coke is really starting to rub off on her, oops!
